LAST OF THE CHAMPIONSHIPS FINISH

560 and 640 CHAMPIONSHIPS END CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON

At the start of this outdoor season there was a renewed hope that we were looking forward to a successful season.  Benburb at the start was a great success.  The Kenny Crozier was another.  Then we hit a bump and like to days formula one, the wheels came off entirely.

Friday night weigh in went well and with the individual weigh in, there is no need for pullers to wait around.  60 seconds is all it takes.  With the weigh in completed it was down to the stamping on Saturday. Teams had turned up with Bob Graham travelling for two hours stamped in time but, well we know what happened.

In the 560 Bancran were well up to the task and had no problems in securing the Gold medal whilst the local Garvagh team took silver.  In the 640 event the teams were again pitted up against one another this time with a little bit less of the vigour on the part of Bancran.  Garvagh were up on the weight but eventually had to succumb to the strength of the Bancran team.

Well done to both teams for their strong effort in getting to the weight, for participating and holding up their end in their attempts to gain those medal places.

Well done especially to Bancran who have a well deserved clean sweep of all the championship gold medals.
