Country Club Tug of War Team is made-up of pullers from throughout the local community, training outside Irvinestown. Team members are primarily from local villages within the Fermanagh and South Tyrone area including Enniskillen, Kesh, Ballinamallard, Lisnarick, Irvinestown and Ballygawley
The club was originally formed by members of the local farming community, competing within local festivals and fairs winning numerous minor events. Over the last 10 years the team has competed within the Northern Ireland Tug Of War Association and achieved the opportunity to represent our country internationally at both the United Kingdom and World level.

The World Indoor 560 kg events are against the most prestigious, heavily contested and difficult to win with truly outstanding opposition from around the world including Chinese Taipei, Kyoto Syobo Loboster from Japan and Mountain View, St Pat’s and Clonmany from Ireland, BRC from Scotland, Noton from England, Lagerweij from Netherlands, ASC Napurrak from France, Amaiur and Abadino from the Basque Countries of Spain against many others.
After the wonderful summer of sport including the Olympics and Paralympics the wider population has received an insight into the determination, dedication and commitment necessary to compete at the top levels of sport and Tug Of War is not different. The Country Club Tug Of War Team are tremendously proud of our achievements on the global stage and are honored to be double World Champions for Northern Ireland.
